EXERCISING AT HOME ‐ GOOD OR BAD?
Nowadays technology is moving so fast that you don’t even need to go to the gym to exercise. There are plenty of free videos that you can watch anytime. All you need is your computer and internet connection. Alternatively you can buy fitness dvd’s so if you are travelling you can take them with you or you can just download an app and exercise anywhere in any free moment. In today’s world people are very busy and want to save as much time as possible. We prefer to do shopping online because it is more convenient, we use online dating websites because people have less time to socialise, video conferences, webinars etc. Also online fitness has become very popular for various different reasons. Can online fitness replace the traditional way of exercising and is it good for you?
EXERCISING AT HOME ‐ ADVANTAGES
There are many advantages of exercising at home, one of the main ones is that you can do it from the comfort of your own home. It’s convenient and this is what we are looking for. You don’t need to go to the gym and you don’t often need to pay high membership fees, especially if you don’t even use it very much. Pay as you go is even more expensive. Some people don’t have time to go to the gym and it is easier to fit in a quick workout in the morning or before dinner. Some people travel a lot, some other people can’t afford the gym or don’t like the atmosphere there. Parents often can’t leave their children, carers can’t leave their wards and therefore online fitness is a good, affordable solution for anyone.
EXERCISING AT HOME ‐ DISADVANTAGES
Many people like going to the gym because once you are there, you don’t have a choice and you have to exercise! If you join the group class you will finish it. You can always ask instructors for help and you have someone to look after you and correct you if necessary. There are other people that you can exchange experiences with and you can interact with them. What is most important that if there are other people and instructors involved we try harder! While at home when no one sees us we often don’t try that hard and we don’t even know if we are doing the exercises correctly. Quite soon we lose the motivation and we stop.
EXERCISING AT HOME ‐ SOLUTION
As technology is moving fast, today’s fitness is going even further than online videos and dvd’s. One of the newest fitness trends is live online fitness which is an interactive group or private class. It’s an online class with a real instructor. You can see the instructor through a web cam and you can communicate with him or her. If it is a group class then there are also different members, however you can have a private class too. The live classes are secure so there is no danger that anyone can see you or broadcast the class to other channels. The instructor will see you too and will see whether you perform the exercises correctly and safely.

EXERCISING AT HOME ‐ IS IT SAFE?
Before you start exercising at home you have to make sure that the exercising area is free of hazars, not slippery and that you have enough space to perform the exercises.
